Class 1 - Botanical Gardens - Sensory Mapping
We went to Leiden's Botanical Garden on our first class where we were assigned to make a sensory mapping of the gardens to experience it in other ways but the ways of seeing.
In my map that I made for this I had a few different things that I wanted to share in a sensory way.

Sound was the first element. This was represented by a huge tree called a trumpet tree. Because this tree was shedding it's seeds and there was a wind, you would hear the sound of the small seeds tapping the ground. It almost made it sound like you were standing in rain.

Smell was the next element where I had found a greenhouse that held many different spices. The most overpowering and also sentimental smell was the smell of vanille.

Feel was a sensory element that was difficult to describe. I have always liked repetitiveness and have been interested in the golden ratio when it comes to plants. This specific thin spar tree was a perfect example of this and when you would touch it you would feel this repetitiveness.

Taste was a difficult one because I wasn't sure what plant you could and could not eat until I found a variety of mint plants. These plants immediately triggered the cook inside of me and I had to taste them all. The most exciting one in not only taste but also smell was without a doubt the chocolate mint.
Class 2 - Queering Sports - Gabriel Fontana "Multiform"
Gabriel Fontana's Workshop "Multiform" was a workshop based on queering sports.

In this workshop we were introduced to his game that contested normative ideas that connect to rules of sports. We where challenged to play the game that was all about reciprocity and eventually had to think of our own game that would involve reciprocity.

The game we thought of was called Lava Ball. In this game the rules where quite simple. The easy version is played with 1 ball where you have to throw the ball to someone and call out their name within 2 seconds of receiving the ball. In this way you have to work for getting to know the teammates and work together to "win" the game. You either win or lose it together. The difficult version would involve more balls and a higher tempo.

The only difficulty about this was that if your name is more difficult you would not get picked that often.
Class 3 - Sound Piece
In the next class the assignment was to create a audio piece based on what we had done in the previous classes.

My interpretation of this assignment is what you hear in the background of this website. You hear a compilation of sounds that are calming and sound like rain dropping on a surface.
Class 4 - ZINE CAMP!
For the next assignment we where assigned to a group of people who are working on the same subject on their essays. Our common subject was revealing knowledge.

Revealing knowledge became the subject of our zine that we have produced at Zine camp.

Class 5 - Vernacular Design Workshop by Cengiz Mengüç
We have received a presentation and workshop by Cengiz Mengüç about vernacular design.

The assignment for this workshop was to occupy a space by a simple and quick concept in a way that would make it and intervention in a more direct way.
